Review Alto Lounge: A yummy lunch with little

Yesterday I took my son to Alto Lounge in Caversham. We were greeted warmly and choose a quiet corner table for two.
I had a delicious halloumi wrap (and chips), a nice coffee and little had a pouch of something organic and delish. He fell in love with another waitress. There's something about a smiling lady who brings him food he falls in love with., the way to my little's heart! The menu looks good, lots of choice, and something for me, awkward veggie alert.
I have been there before, I know it's popular so it can get busy. Booking isn't a bad idea if you really want to avoid disappointment (but then again I've never had to in the daytime). We had a look through the window and saw it was ok, so gave it a go.
I should say, it is a really rare treat and precious expense for my son and I to go out to lunch together, so it makes it all the nicer when lunch is good, the service is friendly and you leave feeling happy, I was quite happy.
Top tips - I'd say if you were eating on your own with your littles, order from the bar first. Then go settle yourself somewhere, means you can just sit and enjoy rather than worrying about when to go and order, leaving little etc, unless your littles are old enough or happy enough to sit and wait. I don't know if they do waitress service (I should ask. I will get in touch and ask). Everytime I've been there I've ordered from the bar.
Thank you for the great and friendly service, delicious lunch, much needed sit down and precious little lunch memory with my son.
UPDATE: I quickly heard back from Alto Lounge who were happy to hear the feedback above (yay) so I can confirm a few bits...
As a casual dining lounge ordering is done at the bar, HOWEVER, those with tiny sleeping littles sit comfy - they are happy to take an order at a table if assistance is needed. So as I say above, order then settle I think is a good start if you are on your own
If you are going in they can hold at table for up to 30 minutes for you, handy for families making a trip into town if you can make a quick call before you go, but generally booking is for Fri, Sat and Sunday for tables over 8 people (this requires a £5ph deposit too)
